The color and light of the Florida landscape inspire me, and I'm surrounded by all the colorful objects and projects my kids have around.  In my work I try to convey meditative calmness, a sense of pleasure and a sense of place. Artists that inspire me include Lois Dodd, Agnes Martin, Neil Welliver, Emilio Sanchez, Beatrice Milhazes, Kawase Hasui, Rex Ray, and David Hockney.  I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama and studied Fine Art at Auburn University.
